Fit and Feel

Fit is snug through the fingers — which I love — though it runs a little wider around the wrist than most of the other premium leather options here. Worth knowing if you have narrower wrists like me, but a genuine benefit if you’ve ever found leather gloves too tight at the closure. A small strip of elastic in the glove helps it mould to your hand, and the Velcro has a satisfying grip to it.

The leather is a touch thicker than the StaSof or Players Flex. That thickness adds to the feeling of quality rather than taking anything away — and I’ll say something I’d normally never put in a review: it smells incredible. With premium cabretta that tells you something real about the material.

Grip

Secure and confident from the first swing. The slightly thicker construction means it’s marginally less tactile than the very thinnest options here, but the grip is excellent — and that same thickness may actually help it last longer.

Durability and Value

Breathability is where this glove does something the others don’t. Air holes on both the top and underside of the finger panels — most gloves only bother with one side. On a warm summer round that’s a genuine difference you’ll notice. Long-term durability is still to be confirmed after more rounds, but the quality of construction suggests it should hold up well.

Golf Insider Verdict

Best for: golfers who want premium cabretta feel with better-than-average breathability, and those with slightly wider wrists who find other gloves too tight at the closure. Worth considering if you want a glove that feels luxurious from day one. Avoid if you want the absolute thinnest feel — look at the FootJoy StaSof or Titleist Players Flex for that, or the Srixon Cabretta Premium if value is a priority.

What we liked

  • Genuinely luxurious cabretta feel — impressive from first wear
  • Air holes on both sides of finger panels — best breathability in the premium leather tier
  • Slightly wider wrist fit suits a broader range of hand shapes
  • Satisfying Velcro closure with built-in elastic moulding

Worth knowing

  • Slightly thicker leather than the StaSof or Players Flex
  • Wider wrist may feel loose for narrower wrists
  • Long-term durability still to be confirmed after extended play
Will’s testing notes · Callaway Tour Authentic

This one made an immediate impression — genuinely luxurious feel straight out of the packet, and it smells incredible, which sounds like a strange thing to say but tells you something real about the quality of the leather. The breathability is the standout detail: air holes on both sides of the finger panels is thoughtful design that most premium gloves don’t bother with.

Best for: golfers who want premium cabretta feel with excellent breathability and a fit that accommodates a wider wrist.

Alternatives

Srixon Cabretta Premium — our top-ranked glove overall, slightly slimmer wrist fit, better value score. The natural first comparison at this level.

FootJoy StaSof — thinner leather, slightly broader finger fit, tour pedigree. Worth comparing if pure feel is the priority.

Wilson Staff Model — exceptional looks and grip at a lower price. Less breathable but outstanding overall package.
