Fit and Feel
There’s a nice moment of recognition here — I bought this one thinking it was uncharted territory, but the second it was on my hand I remembered: I’ve worn this glove before, a few years back, and I really liked it. It didn’t take long to remember why.
Out of the packaging it feels good, and the smell is immediately distinctive — a lovely, quality leather scent that only a handful of gloves in this test share. The look is beautifully classical — clean, unfussy, with aeration holes running down the back that keep things breathable without adding visual clutter. The fit through the fingers is slightly slimmer than several of the other gloves here, which for golfers with narrower hands — myself included — is a real positive. Snug without ever feeling restrictive.
Grip
What makes this glove is the palm. Simple, clean, and the seams are so subtle they barely register. When you wrap your hands around the club, you genuinely don’t feel like you’re wearing a glove at all — there’s that sensation of effortless, almost supernatural grip that only the best in this category deliver. In terms of pure tackiness it’s probably not quite at the very top of the premium leather pile, but that caveat barely registers once the glove is on your hand.
Durability and Value
This is where the Srixon earns its overall win. I have real-world data here rather than just first impressions — my previous Srixon Cabretta held up remarkably well, staying soft and supple far longer than most leather gloves manage. It never went dry and crusty, never wore through prematurely. For a premium cabretta glove, that longevity is genuinely rare. At its price point against the top FootJoy and Titleist options, the value is exceptional.
Heavier sweaters may still find it degrades faster — that’s the nature of cabretta. Pair it with a cheaper all-weather for practice and save this one for rounds.
Golf Insider Verdict
Best for: golfers who want tour-level feel and grip without paying tour-level prices, and particularly those with narrower hands who want a glove that fits like it was made for them. The durability data makes it the most compelling overall package in this test — better longevity than the StaSof or Players Flex at a price that makes those comparisons genuinely difficult to justify.
Avoid if you have broader hands or play regularly in wet conditions — look at the Wilson Staff Model for a slightly roomier premium leather option, or the FootJoy RainGrip if wet weather is a regular problem.
